Can women use generic Viagra?
Generic Viagra is a treatment for erectile dysfunction in men. Erectile dysfunction is an inability to get and maintain an erection when a man is sexually excited. Women have a different kind of reaction as far as the working of generic Viagra is concerned. It is yet to be found if generic Viagra is as effective for women as it is for men. Generic Viagra can however make women aroused outwardly but it does not lead to their desire to have sex.
Genital Changes do not Necessarily Lead to Mental Changes in Women
Genital changes do not necessarily lead to mental changes in women, as is the case with men. The researchers are changing their focus from genitals to brains. With women, it is the brain that leads to a desire to have sex. The brain is the most important sexual organ in women. Researchers are including drugs that influence brain chemistry of women. Psychology is a crucial area in women’s sexual life whereas with men it is not so.
Different Women Can Have Different Reactions
Different women can have different reactions to generic Viagra. In some women it may prove to be very successful in adding a spark to their sexual life. Women, who loose their desire to have sex because of taking antidepressants or some other reason, find generic Viagra very effective. However, if you have always had trouble having a desire for sex or have a low libido level, generic Viagra cannot do much to help you. The level of desire and sexual functioning is determined by hormone level in women.
Low Libidos Level Treatment
Low libidos levels are being treated with testosterone, the male hormone. Estrogen is also being used to cure this. The percentage of women who suffer from various kinds of sexual dysfunction is greater than men. 43 percent women suffer from sexual dysfunction as compared to 31 percent men.
So far all the researches of generic Viagra on women have not come up with a substantial success. Generic Viagra works by increasing the flow of blood towards the genitals by blocking an enzyme that is found in the blood flow and resulting in the swelling of penile tissues. This enzyme is called PDE5 and it is found in the penis in men and in the pelvic region in women.
Researchers have found that although generic Viagra can make a woman have engorged sex organs it will not necessarily lead to an arousal and desire. Researchers have yet to find women who have a connection between increase of blood flow in the pelvic region and getting aroused. Most women do not feel any desire until they are in the process of lovemaking.
So far generic Viagra is not found to be as effective a treatment for women with sexual dysfunction as it is for men.
